Question:

How do I become a member?

Question:

How do I find a society close to me?

Answer:

You can call the C.A.R. National Headquarters Office

and connect with a Senior State President near you. Locate a Local Society using our Society Finder

Question:

How long is the application process?

Answer:

The average time is six to eight weeks. This may vary based on the quality of the application documentation, if the correct fees are sent, etc.

Question:

Is there a computer program available that will print applications?

Answer:

An Adobe fillable form is available under "Forms" or "Join" from the navigation menu at the top of the page. Sheets of 100% cotton paper are available from N.S.C.A.R. Headquarters for $1.00 per set (2 sheets of paper per set).  The Senior National Board of Management recently authorized the use of four sheets of 25% cotton paper ("DAR paper").  Applications must be completed on paper that is either 25% or 100% cotton.

Question:

How do I know if an application has been approved?

Answer:

Applications are approved on a rolling basis. Generally the process requires approximately 6-8 weeks from the time we receive the papers. The member will receive notification by U.S. Mail and a copy of the application papers will be sent to the Senior Society President.

Question:

What happens when I turn 22?

Answer:

A member "ages out" upon his/her 22nd birthday and is no longer a member of C.A.R. He or she is then eligible to become a Senior leader at the Local, State or National level. Your C.A.R. membership number can be used with an application to join DAR or SAR. Additionally, C.A.R. Alumni members are automatically members of the C.A.R. Alumni Foundation.  Contact the CARAF President for more information!
